Aaron Shaw - As someone who has a long standing passion for music I spent almost two years eager to get involved in DJing and Music Production, but having no idea where to start. The Camden Academy gifted me both the know-how and ability in both of these areas. Alan Keane, founder and teacher, made it a pleasure to attend classes week-in-week-out. I went from somebody with no experience in mixing, who had no background in producing to a dance music enthusiast who can now say that I have the ability to enjoy both. Alan is a Don when it comes to music education, whether it be showing you how to use CDJs / Turntables, or passing on the know-how of how to produce your first track - no matter your taste. What struck me the most about him though is his warm and enthusiastic mind set while doing so. He’s always made me feel extremely welcome and regularly makes the time for me where needed. I couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone looking to start their journey in music.
Karl Taffee - The Camden Academy Ableton Course is brilliant. The hands on approach taken in, enabled me to learn much more than I thought would be possible over the month I spent there. This merged with an experienced teacher who I could constantly refer back to with ideas and questions has proved beneficial to me even long after I finished the course. I couldn’t recommend this course enough.
Johnny Walker - Going through the Ableton Course with Alan was a fantastic experience. Each week we created a new track in a different genre which kept things exciting and fresh - but also getting a better understanding of the structure of each track in a specific genre. Whether it was Techno, House, drum and Bass. I found the weekly assignments perfect for producing in a structured way so that you didn’t go down a rabbit hole and get stuck. If you needed a hand, Alan was available by email to ask questions, which was quite helpful. The class sizes are small, which means you get a massive amount of hands-on experience, advice and time from Alan. I highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to brush up on there Ableton skills or who just wants to get started.
Enzo Gach - My name is Enzo, I’m French and I’ve been living in Dublin for Three years. I’ve always loved music especially House, Disco and Techno. I Bought a controller to start Djing and I’m not going to lie, I was a bit lost at first. One day I came across an ad on Facebook talking about a DJ course in Dublin and I said to myself why not give it a try. This is where my music journey with Alan began. I started the DJ course with him and I could feel that I was getting better after every class not to mention the fact that they were great craic. Alan even gave us the opportunity to record our own mix which gave me the chance to play at one of Alan events. This was a big deal for me.
I wanted to do music again over lockdown but was struggling for inspiration and didn’t have any info on where to start, so Alan got me onto the Logic Pro course with him. As I knew Alan was doing Ableton courses, I hoped for the best and he accepted. Two Months Later I was able to make tracks on my own, the assignments were really good and he adapted then with what I wanted to produce. He is a very passionate music lover and on top of that a very good teacher. I’m currently involved in Alan’s mentorship program and our goal is to have my first EP ready for next year and I honestly can’t thank him enough for the opportunity. I would have never thought about achieving all these things in this short amount of time without Alan. If you love music and want to have a lot of fun my best advice is for you to join the school and you won’t regret it !
Ni.Mu -I chose Camden Academy’s DJ course to improve my skills and get rid of some bad habits. I wasn’t disappointed … Alan really invests in his students with time, energy and the best equipment. Totally recommended for any experience level or any genre.
